We are sitting on our plane at the Toronto airport waiting for our flight to depart. I have no idea how we made it here on time, but we did.
We woke up at 6am this morning, got dressed, had breakfast, and did some last-minute packing before waking PK up from her slumber. We woke her up at 7am - 2 hours earlier than her normal wakeup time over the last couple of days. All things considered, she was in a pretty good mood. Breakfast, unfortunately, dragged on. I think it was partly because it was early and partly because the kitchen was so friggin' HOT! The a/c wasn't even doing anything in there - though the rest of the house was quite cool...go figure!
We managed to leave the house on time, and even made it to the airport in good time. Unfortunately, PK was in a crappy mode in the car because the sun was in her face. Not even her soother was doing the trick. And then when we were about 5 minutes away from the airport, PK puked. And puked. And puked. All over her clothes. All over her carseat. ALL of her breakfast. It was smelly!
When we got to the airport, I changed her as the hubby cleaned off the carseat in the parking lot. We somehow made it to the check-in counter, which was at the other end of the terminal. Needless to say, we walked FAST. We'd borrowed a Maclaren stroller from my sister-in-law, which was a life-saver. Even our tiny Bee would've been too big and bulky for this flight.
The line for US Customs was long, but at least moved swiftly, and security didn't hassle us over having packed food for PK in our carry-ons. Thank goodness!
When we got to the gate, our flight was a bit delayed, so we fed PK a bottle to make up for the lost breakfast, along with some Cheerios and freeze-dried fruit. We also let her walk around the waiting area. She's now squirming about in the hubby's lap as we await departure. I hope we don't turn out to be THAT couple with the baby screaming the entire flight. Especially since we have a connecting flight too. Wish us luck!
