Potty-training has come to a stand-still. PK does a wonderful job of holding in her pee (well, at least she's got THAT figured out), and she's been super-stealth on getting those poops out. I was lucky the last time I got her to poop in the potty, because it was one of those stealth poop moments. The only thing that tipped me off was the super-stinky fart that served as precursor to said poop. Since then, we've had a bit of a potty dry spell.
Fortunately, it's not all bad news. As I've mentioned before, we've gotten PK to sit on the toilet in the Bumbo toilet seat in the mornings when we get her up. She really seems to enjoy sitting there, eating her yogurt and drinking her formula. She finds the flushing lever on the toilet quite fascinating, and she loves the toilet paper. That being said, she has learned how to get OFF the toilet, much to our dismay. We need to keep an eye on her, otherwise she might fall on her head off the toilet (she still doesn't realize that falling from high places hurts).
Anyway, we have gotten a few pees out of her in the toilet some mornings, and last week, we got her first toilet poop! She also pooped in the toilet yesterday, and had a big long pee in the toilet today. I've taken to singing peeing and pooping songs when she successfully pees and poops, respectively. The peeing song sounds like Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries", where I sing, "pee pee pee pee pee pee..." to the tune. She gets quite excited when we congratulate her on her excretions.
So, the moral of the story is, you win some, you lose some. Potty time has gone the way of the the dodo, but at least we're having some success on the toilet.
