PK has REALLY gotten into singing lately. Her favorite songs are "Twinkle, Twinkle", the "ABC" song, and "Baa, Baa Black Sheep". (Aside: It's ironic that her three favorite songs all have the same tune.) Other favorites include "Row, Row, Row, Your Boat" and "Frère Jacques". She provides a particularly interesting rendition of the latter, whereby you can totally recognize the tune, but the words seem like they have been pulled out of thin air. I can't complain - it's cute and creative. What more would you want?
When she first started singing, the words were often muddled, but they are becoming increasingly more intelligible. For the ABC song in particular, she can make it all the way to "W" before getting confused and ending up in some weird psychedelic "ABC" loop.
The other day, PK was up in our room after we got home from work/daycare, hanging out with us while we got changed. She wandered into the walk-in closet and started singing the ABC song. The following is a snippet of her performance:
PK: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, LMNOP...
(turns around and notices my wall 'o shoes)
PK: Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!
(gets over excitement and starts singing again)
PK: Q, R, S, T, U, V...
Ah, that's my girl! Gets excited over shoes, just like mommy!
